Airdome HC Schiedam
Due to a lack of indoor capacity for the playing members of HC Schiedam, the idea arose to create our own indoor hockey complex. The desire for an air dome soon emerged, the simple way to temporarily convert an existing field into an indoor hockey space. With the guidance of our expert team, the air dome committee set to work to make this wish come true. The first step? Measuring the existing field and designing a concept air dome with the corresponding dimensions.
Following the initial assessment, our team helps to generate excitement within the club. We also guide and support the process of obtaining an environmental permit. One of the tools we use for this is a 3D visualization of the future air dome.
Once the agreement is signed, production can start. This is done at our innovation center in Steenwijk, where we employ the finest equipment to produce the air domes with great attention to detail.
Alongside our team of technicians, club volunteers will assist in the initial setup of the air dome. They will follow a clear plan and with sufficient expertise to direct all volunteers. Each October and November, our team of technicians sets up around 100 air domes annually. The first setup is completed within a day, allowing the next day to enjoy 6000 m2 of covered playing space. In future setups, with one of our supervisors, dismantling and reassembling the air dome the following year will be accomplished within half a day.
Schiedam's air dome features four indoor hockey fields, covering an entire hockey field. In winter, it offers heated and illuminated hockey. The hall is also rented out when not in use by the club members. Indoor sports feel like being outside, with a lively club atmosphere throughout the entire year.
