Title Datex
Datacenters are equipped with various servers and network equipment that generate significant heat. Traditionally, cooling systems rely on chiller decks placed on rooftops to dissipate this heat. However, a significant challenge arises when cold and warm air flows, generated by the equipment, converge on these chiller decks (where cold air intakes and warm air exhausts are placed close together). This intersection negatively impacts cooling efficiency, as the mixing of warm and cold air diminishes the system’s ability to effectively intake cool, fresh air. Consequently, there is increased energy usage, decreased cooling efficiency, and a increased risk of equipment malfunctions.
The Datex innovation
Datex provides a revolutionary approach to addressing the problem of converging airflows on chiller decks. By utilizing our specially designed material in a revolutionary way, a dedicated cold aisle is created. A mesh fabric layer is placed between the cold air intakes and warm air outlets. This fabric is resistant to all weather conditions, with an openness of 5% to 55% that allows water and snow to pass through, which enables the use of a lighter structure due to the reduced load on the fabric. Datex is a cost-effective, lightweight, durable, and aesthetically pleasing solution for managing the separation of cold and warm air flows around chillers.
The textile material
Datex is a specially developed technical textile consisting of pre-stressed fibers with a coating layer. It can be customized with various compositions and openings as requested, options include transparent or opaque textile variants in various colors. The mesh fabric's openness ranges from completely closed to translucent with 5% openness. The base material is available in widths up to 3 meters, and larger sizes are joined using a high-quality HF weld, which matches the strength of the base material. Datex is made from polyester and fiberglass fabric with UV-resistant and moisture-resistant coating. The covering is open, weighs approximately 450 g/m², and has a thickness of 0.70 mm.
Full in-house capabilities from start to finish
Our designer creates an initial sketch and provides an artistic rendering to deliver a clear visual solution for a realistic image. We also provide a cost estimate.
If you're pleased with the sketch and budget, we'll move on to the preliminary design phase, complete with final calculations, including design specifications, costs, and structural requirements.
Before we proceed with production, we finalize the construction details in a binding timetable.
Our next step is to execute the production and installation plan. Materials will be packed and delivered to the site, where our VCA-certified technicians will manage the installation.
Once the installation is complete, a handover with the project leader will take place, during which everything will be thoroughly checked. We also provide maintenance and service, customized to the project and in agreement with the client.
